Premier League: Man Utd and Man City Win
Manchester City have set a new top-flight record of 15 consecutive wins following a 4-0 victory away to Swansea City in the premier league.
Pep Guardiola’s side had equalled Arsenal’s Premier League record of 14 straight successes on Sunday after outclassing local rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford.
In beating United, they became the first team to win 14 consecutive Premier League games in a single season, with Arsenal’s achievement spanning the 2001-02 and 2002-03 campaigns.
David Silva scored 2 goals in each half , while Kevin de Bruyne and Sergio Aguero comfortably secured the points at the Liberty Stadium giving Manchester City a 4-0 win at bottom club Swansea, as Pep Guardiola’s side extended their record-breaking winning streak.
Manchester United recovered from Sunday’s derby defeat by their title rivals with a 1-0 success over Bournemouth,
Romelu Lukaku scored the only goal of the match in the form of a fine header being his second goal in his last 10 league games, which helped the club to seal all 3 points. Marcus Rashford also came close to scoring but his set-piece effort bounced off the post when he came on as a substitute.
This victory will once again put United 3 points ahead of Chelsea and their 2nd place in the table seems safe for now.
